The Sixth Sunday of Easter

Join us this morning at 10 a.m. for the Sixth Sunday of Easter Service

This Sunday, the 6th Sunday of Easter, we continue with our online offering of Morning Prayer. Psalm 66 is a song of thanksgiving to and praise of God, whose grace sees us through difficult times. In Acts 17:22-31 Paul is in Athens, acknowledging the religiosity of the Athenians, and speaking to them of God who created all and raised Jesus from the dead. John 14:15-21 finds Jesus, anticipating his departure, comforting his disciples with the promise of the Holy Spirit and his abiding presence by following his commandments.

Many parishioners will be familiar with Morning Prayer as a result of growing up using the 1928 Book of Common Prayer. Until the mid – late 1970’s, Morning Prayer was the primary Sunday service with Holy Communion celebrated once a month.  The advent of the 1979 Book of Common Prayer (the one we currently use) established Holy Communion as the primary service on Sundays.
