Haiti Fundraiser

Help St. Michael’s Episcopal Church raise $12,000 for the St. Thomas school in Arcahaie, Haiti. Every gift matters!

Goal Update:

As of July 8, we have raised $13,500.00, surpassing our original goal! We plan to continue to raise funds for St. Thomas through the end of July, especially as we hear news of the pandemic’s spread in Haiti and of the school’s growing need for PPE and basic medical supplies. Please consider giving today!

About St. Thomas School

The St. Thomas Episcopal Church and School in Arcahaie, Haiti (located approximately 2 hours northwest of Port au Prince) has significant needs in order to provide education for the 450+ children who attend school daily. The donations raised through our fundraiser will specifically support the elementary school. Our fundraiser is a primary source of revenue for the school allowing for hot lunches for the students, or in some years, teacher’s salaries.

Partnership with St. Michael’s

Starting in 1994, St. Michael’s started to contribute half of the funds raised by their July 4th week-end lobster lunch to their Haiti partner school, St. Thomas. These funds have not only enabled a beneficial education to both boys and girls, but also provided a daily hot lunch, educational supplies, paid teachers’ salaries, built 3 new classrooms, a computer room and a sanitation facility behind the school. The event was cancelled this year due to Covid 19. While restrictions have loosened in recent weeks, planning the Lobster Lunch requires several months to organize and execute. Instead, this year, we are conducting a month long parish-wide fundraiser with a goal of $12,000!
