Family Promise MOVES to End Homelessness
Family Promise recently announced a new (or re-imagined) event and way for all of us to support their critical work of supporting local families experiencing homelessness. St. Michael’s, as a supporting congregation in the Family Promise Network, knows that for these families, experiencing homelessness is a crisis in and of itself; in this time of national and global crisis, these families are rendered even more vulnerable and need our support and solidarity more than ever. We would like to invite you to our first ever "Move to End Homelessness! We are asking our supporters to commit to move, in any capacity, from the safety of their own neighborhoods during the week of June 21, 2020.
From Sunday, June 21, through Sunday, June 28, you can run, walk, dance, roller skate, bike, swim, or even do cartwheels, around your city or town! There will be prizes for the person who tracks the most steps all week or in a single day, the person who runs the fastest mile, and the people who bike/run/swim the farthest distance. You will have one week to complete your chosen activity!
Most importantly, this fundraiser will serve as a tool for spreading the word about Family Promise North Shore Boston in your own community and neighborhood! Wear a shirt from a past "Walk to End Homelessness" and proudly tell your neighbors why you're "Moving to End Homelessness"! Let's reach our $50,000 goal by filling social media with posts about the work Family Promise is doing to help those in most need! #movetoendhomelessness2020
This year we will not be holding our Annual Walk to End Homelessness in October. We have decided to rearrange our fundraising schedule in order to do our best to prevent further spreading COVID-19 in our community.
